This story is so breathtaking I couldn't scream even if I wanted to. The dark mystery of this plot is deeply addictive and the time jumps flow smoothly. I can't get over our cast of characters either, each with a characterisation that's fascinating and unique, let alone the gorgeous art style. I love Lau with all of my heart, I'm scared for his well-being with white knuckles.
- Sensitive mc with traumatic backstory
- mind-bending mystery
- noir vibe
I can't properly express the love I have for this story. It's the perfect build of tension, to an incredible climax that keeps you guessing. Every key character gets a backstory, adding real depth to characters. And the art is just stunning, the style matches the atmosphere of the story so well, from the bright and beautiful to the dark and dramatic. I cried and laughed. Best read on webtoon btw
- European-like fantasy setting
- The PLOT
The first story to give me a stitch from laughing AND make me bawl my eyes out- ugly crying. It felt a little immature at first, but it's one of those styles that just grew on me like a barnacle and didn't let go. He believes he's the last human alive, stranded on the moon.
- Set mainly on the moon
- comedy or tragedy.. why not both?
- weird but so worth it
- trigger warning for suicidal ideation
This story is so pretty I wish I could permanently imprint some of these panels directly onto my eyelids. This child is the cutest thing to ever exist and anyone who wishes him harm should burn in their equivalent of hell. The world feels so vast and complex that even in just these few chapters it leaves you craving the rest of the story to see how much more can be explored. I love this with all of my heart.
- SciFi setting
- did someone say fluff?
- unique characters!
This plotline hit me in the feels with no restraint. And its art is so pretty, just looking at it made me feel like crying too. Genuinely, this is a story that I think everyone should read at least once in their life. I, personally, will be reading this many many more times over.
- Dramatic, with magic, folklore and religious components
- THE ART
- Smart mc
One of my favorite manhwas of all time. It has a historical setting and badass protagonist. There's also a complex supporting cast who all have their own stories developed. It's incredibly written and the art is fucking phenomenal. Lots of drama, in a 'fight to the top' kind of plot.
- genderbend
- really intelligent mc
- satisfying romance (also a little spicy lol)
- gods and fantasy components
A seriously addictive story with high stakes and an entertaining protagonist; I couldn't put it down. Follows newbies to the Korean entertainment industry as they compete in survival show. I don't know how many times I've re-read this. Lower stakes and therefore less stressful than a real survival show because it's not real people's lives being played with. Only the fun bits are left (except for the sound limitations of the medium lol)
Deals with some really heavy topics and intense themes despite the deceptively cute art style. The careful way the author reveals crumbs of information as the various stories progress and weave into each other feels so real and natural it's scary. Phenomenal; it made me cry :)
- slice of life, until it's not
- mc can see ghosts and lives in a haunted dorm
- emotional tension <3
This one is special. Every word, moment and character in this story feels so carefully planned. It actually made me use my little pea brain as I was reading this revenge-mystery-action plot. Kept me on my toes the whole time. A gorgeous and gritty art style where the artist really knows how to make the Manhwa format work with weird angles, weapons slicing through and panels flowing together. Has many complex characters and can be heavy on the exposition but it is so worth it
(?) I'm struggling to place exactly why I like this one so much but it's definitely forever one of my favourites. Strange, funny as hell and weirdly warm and comfortable to read. A series of slice-of-life, almost romantic short stories about high schoolers. I love Wayama Yama's work so much. I've re-read this so many times, it just makes me happy :)
- the human experience
