HAKASE MIZUKI. The art is so strange and stylized, but it grew on me. I waited ages for the final volume of Demon Flowers, thinking I'd never get to read it. I was so grateful to find it after all these years. I want more BL from this artist!
NAGAI SABUROU. No fair, she doesn't seem to have anything else out there. A tiny chunk of another manga was translated five years ago, then abandoned. But this one piece is so beautiful and brutal and perfect and heartbreaking that I have to add her. I hope more of her stuff shows up soon. Beautiful art, deeply moving and complex characters.
MINEKURA KAZUYA. I'm not as into Saiyuki, actually, but I love Wild Adapter.
AKANE SORA. This sucks because I'm in love with her art and storytelling based on the short story featured in this anthology, but I can't find any info on her at all. She's either really new to manga, or she popped in, then faded out. I'm really hoping I can find more of her stuff soon.
YOHA. Another mangaka with only one thing translated. She seems to be pretty new, only started releasing stuff about three years ago, so hopefully we'll soon get a rush of new stuff from her. I'm putting her on the list because, like Akabeko, she approached the omegaverse in a refreshing, satisfying way, touching on the sad elements of this world without giving it one of those "but the uke ends up enjoying being a baby factory, the end!" conclusions. I look forward to what el
FUKAUMI HISATO. This might be premature, since she only has two oneshots and a single chapter of a longer story up, but I already adore the art and really like her approach to story and characterization. Plus she writes little kids in a very cute way. Kids annoy me most of the time, so that's a big plus. I can't wait for more of her stuff to come out.
TAMEKOU. I'm still not 100% on her story concepts, but so far they've been intriguing enough to keep me interested. Better than a lot of stuff in a similar theme. Regardless, I like her characters, and the art is GORGEOUS. This manga isn't done being translated, but I like it right now, and unless it takes a sudden, horrible turn, I don't imagine it can end in a way that'd make me take her off my list.
KYUUGOU. Acid Town is amazing, and I love her for this alone, but her art is amazing, and I can't get enough. She's full of surprises and really avoid typical yaoi cliches. Plus she doesn't treat rape like a love declaration, which is fairly rare in yaoi, sadly.
SADAHIRO MIKA. I've loved her weird, twisted stuff since I was a teenager. Definitely one of my faves.
KAORI YUKI. Her art is gorgeous, and her stories are dark. What's not to love? Boy's Next Door is definitely my favorite. Sadly, she mostly does shoujo, and it's typically too depressing for my tastes. Hoping she gets back to shounen ai someday.
