True the ex-husband was better but she have always loved him[ml] in the engagement process, the mom said that feelings are important, nobody forced him and her to be engaged, she knew he need their money and she wanted to be a princess so she was doing it for 50% jokingly. They meet and she fell in love with him, he was in love with another girl but that girl didn't really love him that much and was blinded by the title, stuff happened and they divorced. They meet again and he started to fall for her[fl] {or something}
He used her for money and status and then cheated on her for a superficial social climber. Only to "regret" it after his "true love" dumped him and his daughter for another man. To add insult to injury his beloved self-absorbed ex-wife wanted the money she "loaned" to him back.
