you do realize you're talking about a fictional character from a completed series, right? which means it ended. which means literally what you're saying is never gonna happen unless the author decides to continue this series.
also being polyamorous does not mean you are cheating, it means having multiple partners and you only have multiple when you are sure your partner are okay with it. so, even if that scenario you have does happen, if makoto says he does not want luka to have another partner, he will not get another partner (unless he's a shitty boyfriend, but we all know he's not from the manga).
You know what I can totally write an essay disproving everything you just said but I'm really tired
And I'm gonna think that what you said is the total truth and just go off on in my way
And honestly thank you that was really positive and actually almost believed it
I bet and hope you have great friends
I'm aware it's just a manga, I'm just talking about the real world situation of a mono dating a poly. It's would definitely be an unhealthy relationship irl, especially since they never actually set boundaries. Poly people in general aren't cheaters obviously, but its different when the person you're dating is mono and you don't discuss anything with them.
The author never says flat out that. Luca has become mono either. Don't get me wrong, mono and poly people can make a relationship work, but the author glossed over such an important part that it leaves me along with many others with a sour taste in our mouths.
I know a lot of people who read manga, and ESPECIALLY Yaoi are typically young impressionable girls or women like myself and we tend to see A LOT of unhealthy "couple goals" so talking about the impact that these comics have is pretty important. Again though, you're right, it is just a manga. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I agree, being poly in general is definitely not cheating. The thing that I'm talking about is that although Luca is poly, Mako is not. Poly and mono people can have a good and healthy relationship, BUT there need to be clear boundaries and not just the implication. The author glossed over a very important part, that's why I see it as unhealthy.
I see how I came across like that, I'm sorry. I wasn't talking about that moment in the manga, but he said (and it was definitely implied) that he had multiple partners and was a player. He himself said he was poly AND showed no concern when he saw another person cheat, meaning he was heavily influenced by the culture he was raised in.
You're right, he had the opportunity and didn't, which I assume was meant to symbolize his 'change/switch' but at the same time, nothing was every discussed with Makoto. All good relationships need to be filled with communication. There was no sure way for Mako to know if he would try to 'cheat' (in Mako's eyes) which is pretty unhealthy...
Just needed an actual convo about it and that would have been good. That's all I was saying.
Sometimes I’m wondering if some of y’all can actually read. Luca says that in his country people are poly so he was amused that in Japan it was such a big deal !!! He love Mako and Mako only, he has no attention to have multiple patterns. Anyways this was a beautiful story ans I feel REALLY single after reading this T-T.
