you need to put your foot down tho. it can't be helped that a confict may arise but if you are having difficulties and is suffering in silent it won't do you and your friendship good as well. you can try discussing it out with her without ending your friendship. call her out in a nice way and maybe scold her or smth. and finally, credit your artwork regardless if she like it or not bec. you have every right.
Oh god...that's awful! You NEED to confront her! Otherwise she'll just keep doing it! If she's a good friend she'll understand and stop, or start giving you credit at least. Also, start signing your drawings. Yeah, you didn't do it before because you trusted her, but the whole point in signing it is so people can't take credit for it, and that's exactly what's happening right now
Oh my gosh...
I just read through the comment section of one of the contests. She planned to steal it for a while.
She said "I'm making mine :D" Before I even started on the piece she entered.
Then she said "Oh goodness, how much time?" Because I was taking a while to make it perfect and cause I was tired.
Then said "I'm almost done" after I finished and went to editing.
She said "I'm sorry I put a lot of time into it" I was tired and wanted to take a break.
Then she said "it might be finished tomorrow" Because I was really tired and went to sleep.
After I finished the next day she posted it and took all credit again. Of course she was praised on how good 'her' drawing was.
I'm sorry for what happened, but I think you need to be direct about it. Ideally speaking, true friends don't do that, you shouldn't even regret losing her.
But we all have experience with friendships, both bad and good. Sometimes we just cant help it. If you cant be direct, maybe you can be slightly passive-aggressive? Try telling her that you're going to enter a contest, or when she asked you to draw for her contest, tell her that you're planning to enter the same contest while acting oblivious to her action.
Its not the most beautiful choice, but its just a suggestion.
No offense. You seriously need to confront that friend of yours. Your friend is stepping the boundary of your frienship. She seriously need some earful words coming from you. What she did is basically stealing.
I know you may think that you will lose her even if she is the perfect best friend, even if she is your only friend or the only person u think truly gets u and likes u... no matter what she has done for you in the past, this girl is not your friend. Believe me. I could encourage you to confront her or drop some hints or just try to fix the situation. But I'm going to be honest with you. No one who is a friend would do that. That is what your enemies do. And to leave you to be friends with someone who treats you like this is too sad. You WILL find someone better because no matter what u believe, good people are drawn to good people. You will get over this and you will find someone else even if it takes time. But u have to cut this girl loose and take credit for your work. Go to that website and claim whats yours. Because then at least u will know u did everything u could to get back what rightfully belonged to you. You should sign you drawings they don't ruin the drawings they give it endearment and a sense that whoever drew this was proud of what they did and believe it deserves credit. You deserve better and you can have it. All u have to do is go after it. Feel free to send me a message if u want to talk.
hello :) i'm not usually into this replying to topics thing but i think i really need to give you some advice now :) that person isn't your friend at all. a friend wouldn't do what that person did to you. you should realize your own worth because in doing so you will not be afraid of losing some people in your life. you should tell her that what she did to you was wrong and (i'm sure) it hurts you.
i'm sure you had a gift in you and i hope you'll eventually realize that our gifts deserve respect too. we artist are measured by how much we invested in something. you invested time and heart in your creations and i can't believe how you can allow someone to take away the credit that should have been for you. its not a matter of whether that person is a friend or family. its between you and your drawings. it's like you gave birth to a child and you abandon him for someone else.
be strong. and i hope you'll get through this.
You really need to talk to her straight upfront, she can't do that to you the ones who draw full heart why she get the credit for it ,although she asked you to draw for her doesn't mean she can't do that....these can be considered a betrayal on your friendship, you really need to confront with bout this....ask here why she do that,I knew you don't want ruined your friendship with here but isn't she really value this frienship of your like you do.....if she really valued it,she apologies.... Maybe....no hard feelings okay...I just given you my advice a little.....
Your best friend? I don't think that she really is so good friend if she does something like that! No, I think she isn't actually your true friend at all! She just heartlessly use you....
You need to talk to her and say that what she is going is wrong! If she becomes angry or something and Ieaves you... I think it's better that way. You don't need this kind of "friend" who just betrays you, nobody does!
she is doing*
In my opinion, you should just end it with her. Confront her regarding this and it's best if you do it with people around you. That will embarrass the hell outta her. The main point is, you do not want friends such as these who steals your creations and makes them her own. I may be a bitch but I for sure will not tolerate anyone taking advantage of me. Plus, since she as the guts to do this, what makes you think she has been truthful all throughout your friendship? She could be lying to you about other things as well. Heck, she could even betray you one day, more seriously than what she's doing now. PS: Do not give original drawings to people unless you sign them in pen or something.
i'm not sure what kind of person you are, so I don't think I can give advice that will work perfectly. a lot of people here say that you should end it with her, and i think that may be the cleanest solution. a clean break. but i also think you should try to find out her motives. this isn't some random event, yea? she thought about it beforehand. she wasn't thinking of you. maybe you can try sending her a link of one of the pages she entered your art for? and asking "hey, did you enter me in a contest?"
go from there and say stuff like, "Oh, this contest has a prize..." and "i found another artwork i made, it's an entry in another contest and it already won?"
if she's sensitive, she'll know what you're trying to say.
and i agree with the others who say that you need to sign your work. it will be difficult to claim anything when it's your word against hers.
oh yes. and if you want to cry, then cry.

This has nothing to do with manga. It's just that you guys respond the fastest usually.
Please help me.
I'm an artist, so I draw some stuff for my friends if they ask me. There's this friend who I draw a lot for. I trust her because she's my best friend. So I try my best on each of my drawings for her. I trust her enough to not sign them (since it will ruin the picture) and for her to give credit to me incase she wants to show it off. But just recently I found this page. and found out and she uses my art to enter into art contests on that page to get things that she wants. She didn't credit me at all and took it all for herself. When the person she sends them to praises her for 'her' work she says "Thanks, I try my best" or "At least I tried to draw it". It made me want to cry so bad when I found out. I don't want to call her out on it since I'm afraid I will lose her. I don't know what to do. I want to keep drawing for her. But I don't want to suddenly start putting signatures on them or start drawing bad art for her either.
It makes me really sad to know that she did that. It takes me about 1-5 hours to complete a decent one and she just takes it as her own with out having to do a thing. I'm just a bit happy that they win sometimes but to know that it wasn't her that drew it but that it was me is the worst of all. And knowing that the current piece I'm working on for her is for another art contest made me loose all motivation to draw.
I told her to credit me if she ever wanted to show someone.
I'm just sad that I lost about half of my trust in her.
Thank you for reading.
