I wasn't sure who's the bad guys are here... Her dad/the weird demon hunting organization or the demons. They (demons) don't even fully grasp that they are demons. They are shocked when they turn. but so far I'm intrigued by this.
I think that this is a world of gray no good or bad just strong belief in what they were taught by the past not what they learned themselves.
Ah I can see that. "I've done nothing wrong. I just fell in love with a man." [loosely quoted] All of a sudden people are hunting him. They believe that what he has done is in a sense "demonic" turning him in to a demon, and that he should pay by death. That's what I'm getting out of this so far.
huh i thought that it was actual demons whose ancestors decided to blend in with human society and once the humans find them they decided to remove them even though they haven't caused any harm, but i think your idea might be more right about this.
