Mildred just wants whats best for her kids and shes really trying to be a good mom in a situation that was literally thrust upon her like cut her some slack this isnt someone being born or entering a kids body this a person wh has all the responsibilities of a 40 year old mom who is lacking financial support
iris is still a kid who only has her mom and there has been a drastic change in mildred's personality from her kids' pov she's suddenly kinder and shows more attention towards someone else"s kid who is very obviously prettier in a world where the face is everything it is a very understandable reaction to feel like she's being left behind regardless of how mature she is
In a way it is Iris just asking for attention. Thats her mom. she feels as if Ashley is encroaching on her territory. ITs something a lot fo children go through when they suddenly have to share their mom. Why is this person getting more love than I am? I was here first so why am i not getting praised or i did that too. This is fairly common psycology that Millions of children go through whether someone is adopted or a new sibling is born

I’m only pointing out that the chapter doesn’t make any change regarding Mildred actions. I thought “yay, she’ll finally change her mindset and disregard the Cinderella story a little”, that the author would finally make a change in Mildred’s thinking, but noooope.
But hey, maybe in the next chapters! Hopefully soon, I don’t like when the leads take so long to accept they’re not in the story they think or that their actions changed it.
And can’t wait for the development with the prince!
Yes I agree w you on the part where characters take rly long to realize that the story changed its kinda irritating but I still think Mildred was giving Ashley attention and teaching her not favoring her but if she tries to force Ashley n the crown prince I’ll start getting pissed off :(
I’m skeptic about this chapter, it makes Iris look like she’s just asking for attention (i know she’s still young but her character is far from that childish) and it doesn’t make Mildred think of her actions. Iris should’ve asked why Mildred favors Ash, for example when she made her walk before her older sisters disregarding the aristocracy rules. Even Ash was uncomfortable about it.
I hope it won’t go as far as her to jeopardize the prince/iris couple. But I can imagine Mildred still trying hard to put Ash with the prince until she finally realizes it’s not exactly Cinderella story.
I don’t really like Mildred and the other guy’s couple (forgot his name, I don’t really care), they are strange, and they have too many chapters about them without any development so they kinda bore me.
I’m sooo rooting for the prince and iris thought.
They are making a cute couple and didn’t have a lot of chapter for them but made a lot more progress. Hope we’ll have more of them!!
