I mean, if I were being abused and controlled by my husband I would leave too. I would probably leave my child behind as well because if my husband was an alpha, while I'm an omega, he could probably provide for the child better than I could since omegas aren't as privileged as alphas in their society. Plus, the husband never laid a hand on the child either. It was more neglect, which is still a form of abuse, rather than literal physical abuse.
Not saying what she did was right, but I can see why she did it.
