Tbh, no one is responsible for the actions of another. Can you influence another persons actions? yes, but deciding to act is totally up to the person themselves.
And the dad was actually a nice person before the mom left so the lady prolly thought the kid would be fine without her and her husband could handle things.
What she did was still totally wrong but the dad is to be blamed fore HIS actions while the mom is to be blamed for HERS.
