It's a common trope in many romances and I dont wanna pull a Freud here but I think theres a theory basically that we humans use our parents as baselines to what a relationship should look like and seek partners based in what our concept of a good partner looks like
A caring cute loving mother/a serious kind reliable father
Of course that theory sounds weak if you come from a divorced parents house and your parents are shitty lol and freud makes it sound like pseudo incest
