i've always hated stories where people just mindlessly persecute and murder people just because they were born and call them monsters, like Ethan didn't ask to be half vampire, he didn't ask for any of it, but yet people here that he simply exists and want him dead just because he exists. he has done nothing to hurt the humans around him, but yet they call him dangerous, a monster... he didn't ask for his parents to die simply because they were different... i don't know why i'm so emotional about it, but i feel like it hits home and reminds me of todays society, and how they simply persecute people just because they are different or born with a different skin color. nobody asked to be the way they are
