To be fair, I’m like 30ish or whatever and they didn’t teach us shit in Somewhat Sorta Sex Ed…because I don’t even remember having it. Lol. Anyway, I’m not 100% at the moment but I think the term hermaphrodite has been phased out in favor of intersex because of the negative connotations associated with term. So for researchin purposes, friends, look up intersex. ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

Yeah, I was confused at first because people were calling a intersex person a hermaphrodite and I didn't know why. Turns out they are pretty much the same thing?

Hermaphrodite means that both male and female parts work. There are no none cases of hermaphroditism occurring in humans. An example of hermaphroditism is in snails. Snails will actual shoot their intended with “love darts” to determine which one will carry the eggs. Intersex is different. Intersex people exist and can have one of their sex organs working, or can just be infertile.

There is term of “true hermaphroditism” in humans, but even in that case it just means they have both ovary and testicular tissue. However, as stated above, usually one will work. What I meant about real hermaphroditism, like in the case of snails, both parties can give birth and father an offspring.

If school fails always a google a way, just make sure it’s from a reliable source though. :) Knowledge is fun

wait wait wait. "Only one works" conveys that arousal can only happen in either the male part or female part. I don't think that's true. by "work" be clear. Are you saying that they can only use one to procreate? because not everything is all about making babies, and most if not all intersex can't have children

I’m saying that only one of the reproductive systems work, and the other part will be infertile—that or they’re just completely infertile. There hasn’t been a case where anyone was able to give birth and also father children.

Because if they could do both then they would be true hermaphrodites like snails.

Also if you look at my previous comment I already said that they could have one working reproductive system or just be infertile :)
