i really don't care about race or color of anyone so i'm not arguing for that sake, but i gotta fact check you cuz i don't like misinformation. Egyptians are not considered black. you can watch alot of documentaries analyzing their remaining mummies. their bone and facial structure does not look black at all. the same continent does not mean the same race. that argument is invalid. its like saying philipinos and japanese are the same cuz their asian.

I see where you’re coming from, I personally would want to see more black or poc bodies in this story considering it is based off of Egyptian gods but again they’re gods and originally had animal features so I guess that allows more creative freedom for the creator. While everyone might not be dark skinned I do appreciate that more than half of the cast are diverse bc it’s literally just Seth’s family and Hathor who are pale.

No, I actually really like your opinion and it’s valid to question the matter of skin tone because it also threw me off when I first read Ennead cause I expected ALL of them to be dark skinned. But I think overtime I grew to appreciate all the different, unique character designs bc clearly the creator didn’t want to stick to accurate skin tones (some of the gods are blue and green) bc I think it just further establishes how gods aren’t humans and not bound to human physical appearances. It’s very otherworldly and it makes the entire cast look diverse.
But again, I can see why some people will still want all of them to be black or dark skinned and that’s fair to think so.

Give the author some proper credit, for effing sake. The author obviously did lots of research since this is how many of these gods were depicted by the ancient Egyptians *themselves*: Seth was pale because he was also the god of FOREIGNERS, Anubis is pale because he was the god of FUNERALS so he was pale to symbolize death... and so on. So there's that, apart from the fact that even historians say there probably *wasn't* just one race living in Egypt at the time.
