i hope this does not sound rude, i don’t mean for it to, but isn’t he having it, he’s trying to help them like with the school and his sisters career, or is there more?
His redemption is aimed at the daughter. Aside from being softspoken unlike before where he's giving him the cold shoulder, there's nothing more, not to mention how everything goes the way he wanted it. And since this is a romance between them, him redeeming himself for the mc is what we're hoping for.
