I’M SO APPRECIATIVE OF TRANSLATORS NEKO & RYU BECAUSE IT’S NOT JUST UPLOADING PRE-EXISTING WORK, IT’S HOURS AND HOURS OF WORK!!! I didn’t see Haters’ comments since already deleted, but thanks so much to folks who replied back to them; hopefully some sense got through.
I’m super frustrated at folks who spew hatred, negativity at Volunteer Translators. Do they really think folks are lining up to take this no-pay, tedious, time-consuming, often thankless job of translating comic that’s typically in language not fluent in, to a language also not fluent in. THEN risk being penalized for illegally uploading onto illegal site.
If can’t read Korean, Mandarin, Japanese, just go and buy the English version? Sure! How many series actually get to this exalted stage and what’s the lag time between debuting in original language versus English version? (Something we’re excited about today won’t have same impact months or years later.)
So many series won’t ever get official English translations and that’s why I’m greatly appreciative of fellow Readers who step up to spend their money, time, energy; who put themselves at risk to be criticized, hated, threatened; and who expose themselves to potential loss of privacy and legal actions.
I HOPE NEKO WILL STAY STRONG AS SO MANY OF US SUPPORT YOU. MUCH GRATITUDE TO RYU FOR YOUR DETERMINATION TO CONTINUE SHARING SE YANG’S SERIES WITH US.
