So Tia's mother has some sort of ability their entire tribe has this so called abilities and Tia's mother gain the ability of seeing the future and her mother was the next candidate to be the next chief in the tribe. But she refuse that and leave the tribe because she saw the future await for her if she meet Gallahan. The last word she said to her mother which is Tia's grandmother was " I can't help it my husband and daughter are lovely " she left the tribe without knowing anything. The only purpose was to find Gallahan. The moment they met Gallahan even said " The moment our eyes met it is as if she knew the future ". The reason why she died after giving birth to Tia was because if u give birth to a child ur power will slowly fade. Slowly but in their case it was because Tia's power was powerful enough to suck her power.
