Okay so this appears to not be adapted from either of the novels I thought it was. There are some important differences between this one and those two to make it unlikely that it was adapted from one of them. One novel had this producer guy knocked out and the FL had to get out of the room before her trash ex and stepsister brought the police to the room. The other novel had the FL sleeping and waking up next to another guy who was actually a good person and had nothing to do with her drugging. He was actually being set up as well. But the thing is he wasn't the ML.
