Just saying...

For anyone wondering if it's still rape / sexual assault - because of that initial consent (which was also just in that one last case, because there were many other instances where he didn't get Jeongin's consent at all before that) - when Jeongin was *begging* him to stop later on.
It most certainly *is* sexual assault, both by law and common sense. (Though I suppose in manga it's become so common that people are begging the other to stop and being ignored that one almost tends to not even consider it anything out of the ordinary there anymore... Σ(¬_¬) ).

Also, Jeongin may have been a bit of an asshole in the beginning, but all the things Seunghyun did were on an *entirely* different level. In the end, Jeongin was still being constantly threatened and coerced, and he did absolutely *nothing wrong* by doing his best to escape that situation - he had nothing to apologize for on his end. (Come to think of it, ironically, I don't seem to remember Seunghyun ever once apologizing or admitting fault for any of the *diametrically* worse shit he pulled.)
I don't know why, but with the last chapters, I'm starting to feel low-key worried for some reason that there's a chance the author might intend to spin this in some way like that he was actually not the one who pushed Minwoo, and supposedly "not forcing" Jeongin (because, of course, asking that *one single time* in the entire story if he really wanted to do it - while violently forcing himself on Jeongin, ignoring any protests, and doing whatever the hell he wanted pretty much every single other time both before and after that in the story, makes the sex "consensual"). And that Seunghyun was therefore imprisoned "for things he didn't do" because of Jeongin - so that they've supposedly "both hurt each other" and are supposedly "even"... or even make Seunghyun appear like some kind of victim in all this... I really, really hope that's not the case, because that would make me seriously pissed. It's a very engaging story with beautiful art overall, so I really hope it doesn't turn into one of "those" stories ┗( T﹏T )┛

Yes! I was questioning that myself because the uke initially said yes but as the sex progressed and became extremely violent he was telling him to stop so the line can become blurry but like the seme is a scary sociopath with violent behavior and possessive sexual fantasies towards the uke so he should have been locked away and I’m glad he was lol

HOWEVER I am also worried that the author will put a fast one on us and spin the story cuz the uke has been haunted by the trial and the seme being locked away so I fear he blames himself and will go back to the seme out of guilt and confusion about what he did and how he truly feels

UGH these psychological BLs always give me so much damn anxiety lmao

exactly! I mean, i don't hate toxic things (in fiction) but i do hate hypocrisy and justification of the unjustifiable. He's a piece of shit, end of story.

Well, actually, what I was trying to say is that, even just by law, that line isn't even blurry but was *clearly* crossed. He gave consent initially, then loudly and clearly withdrew it later on when Seunghyun refused to stop after they went several times and it became too much and painful. Jeongin repeatedly *pleaded for him to stop*, but Seunghyun ignored that and continued having his way with him *by force*, so that is *clearly* non-con (or that's how an IRL court would consider it, at least).
And I know that usually doesn't happen, so I was also low-key refreshed he *actually* got arrested for it right away in this one, that's a really rare sight

And I suppose it isn't called Stockholm Syndrome for no reason, so I guess Jeongin feeling confused about his feelings and guilty about Seunghyun ending up in prison is to be expected...
But I'm just hoping it doesn't turn into one of those where Seunghyun's actions are implicitly downplayed by painting them as "even" with the "perceived" betrayal and behavior on Jeongin's end or something like that from the *objective storytelling viewpoint* as well.
I can deal with the dark psychological stuff as long as abuse and the like is openly acknowledged as such from the overall storytelling viewpoint - even if it's not necessarily recognized by all the characters themselves (if that makes any sense?). But there are also those where an abuser's actions might be sort of downplayed or 'swept under the rug' without being properly acknowledged or addressed in the story, and those I always find hard to stomach, because they just make me too angry Σ( ̄∇ ̄")

This. Exactly, nothing to add ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Also, I think I noticed you saying somewhere on here this is actually based on a novel? Could you give some spoilers for the later development? Pretty please? :D

I haven't read the novel, just spoilers of it. Based on them, he's still stalking him. He's gonna eventually kidnap him and monitor him 24/24. He's gonna be paranoid about everything his does, even going as far as putting trackers on him. There's no character development (not that it was possible to be any with what he did lol), just acceptance on the uke's part that he can't escape and artificial feelings caused by stockholm syndrome. It's one of these stories where the messed up stalker wins .

I 100% agree! In terms of the line being blurry, I meant to say in terms of fiction and this genre specifically of BL, sorry I wasn’t clear! I am in no way justifying what the seme did to the uke, and it clearly became non consensual which is why the events that occurred thereafter were clearly warranted

Also, when I said blurry, I was referring to the author trying to use those events and twist them in a way that will be totally frustrating lol

I’m honestly worried about the future chapters and how the story will progress for season 2 and based off of the spoiler comment that was posted in this thread, I’m scared but I gotta know what happens ITS SO FRUSTRATING

Ahh, I see. Thanks a lot for the heads-up! :)
Dang, there goes my hope of Seunghyun actually growing some sense, eventually, I guess o(╥﹏╥)o (A development like that was sort of ok in Shadow Crown, since it was so hilariously and crackishly done , but it's bound to be depressing here ^^').
Guess I might wait for this to be finished and take a peek at the final development then (if I can manage to hold back for so long, that is ), just to be safe. Since I can already feel I will probably be cussing and cursing a lot ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Exactly! This is exactly what I'm also low-key afraid might happen. ^^'

It's quite well done apart from this though, and the *art* is so damn pretty
┗( T﹏T )┛ I guess we'll just have to be prepared and proceed with caution from here :D (meaning I'll prepare a baseball bat or something to hit Seunghyun with just in case it becomes too frustrating )

HAHAHA, I hadn't thought of it that way until you mentioned it, but yes! (--> "Beat a motherfucker with another motherfucker")
