i think because it is so fast. they should have made the process more slower. i know they will end up together, but it's happening so fast.
Yes the last emperor was clearly toxic and he loved him in this weird toxic compulsive way but realize that when it comes to our MC he did love him every time he went into that relationship willingly originally he fell in love with him when he stopped loving him when he realized that I want to disappear and everything that he finally did to me came crashing down
Was at the end when he basically the last emperor was already dying and he decided to take his life to try to save him and when the goddess finally told him that was like 100% like I’m done erase me from this existence so two reasons why we’re not having more of a slow burn that we should be having
Is because we only have less than 50 chapters left it already did tell us the end of the story anyways and they want to make it a little bit more lighthearted they’re also speeding it up a lot I’m pretty sure if they could take their time because of how they’ll start off of the story was structured they would’ve gave off more hurt and hate in trauma and panic attacks but they can’t I also think they want to keep it light for the chapters we have left and just a show is an abbreviation of what basically happened in a more happy setting
As well as the MC can also never fall in love properly because this is a version of the king that he can love because he’s clearly not messed up in the head and knows how to properly love Sorry if this seems a lot of this is actually very quick to read

I totally understand not wanting to deal with super sad storys.. I just really enjoy storys about revenge and/or pitiful characters guilty pleasure that why i read so many villaness genre manga death is the only ending for the Villainess is one of my top 5 manga but anyway i recommend my starry sky i consider that almost a more vanilla and modern version of this almost or a vanilla 10 year i loved you has my literal favorite them in it "regret"
