A lot of the translations for novels are bad so firstly it's about finding good translation teams I recommend mystical series (They are the best and make everything as clear as possible).
Second is just adjusting to their weird grammar like a lot of novel translators don't use proper quotation for some reason they instead use ' instead of " for speech.
Finally, learn the character speaking habits or just pay attention to who starts the conversation because conversations usually follow an A, B, A format. This is important bc these novels usually don't do a good job telling you who is talking.
This is honestly all I can think of off the top of my head but the way I learned to read these novels is by just reading them until you understand it ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ Good luck!
i remember reading the novel for this a few years ago if this stays true to it (but hopefully speeds up some parts that dragged) this will be good!
btw it's been a while since I read the novel so I have no spoilers, I only remember liking it and thinking some points went on for too long, and I do not remember where I read it.
