VOLUME 1 SPOILERS:
<spoiler> I will not fully retell what has already been shown in the manhwa, but I will briefly indicate what you should pay attention to. The novel begins with Taekju catching two criminals (Kim Younghee (female) and Rhee Chuljin (male)) in Busan with his co-worker (the guy with glasses, Yoon Jongwoo). You should pay attention to how Taekju put a handkerchief in Yunghee's mouth to prevent her from committing suicide, and her ring, because in volume 4 this will play a big role. Well, the mission is successful and Taekju returns home by train to catch his mother's birthday, but he is called back to the headquarters. There he sees Director General Lim, under whose supervision he works, as well as 1st Vice Director Cha Munseok (there are 3 deputy directors in total, this will also be discussed in volume 4). Director Lim instructs Taekju to go to Moscow and find a new weapon, codenamed Anastasia, which is being developed by Russia and North Korea. Director Lim mentions that the American spy Morgan was sent to Moscow before, but his mutilated body (it is worth paying attention to the fact that he was found without fingers) was found on the river bank. Director Lim warns of Psih (Psycho) Bogdanov, who may have been linked to Morgan's death. There is nothing left for Taekju, he leaves for Russia, having previously disguised himself as the Japanese Hiro Sakamoto, who works in a company that closely cooperates with Russian company Gazprom. Before the flight, Taekju visits her mother (mother's father, her husband and eldest son were all military men and died during the service, so she is very worried about Taekju and protects him). Since NIS spies are not allowed to reveal their activities even to family members, Taekju also hides from his mother, pretending to be a petty official. He said he was leaving on a business trip. There was a drunken brawler on the plane, so the flight was delayed. At the airport, Taekju was met by employees of Gazprom (but as it turned out later, the real employees of Gazprom disappeared somewhere (this was mentioned in the second half of the novel, but I don’t remember exactly, it seems they were told that Hiro Sakamoto would be very late and they went away for a while)), so he was met by Psih Bogdanov's people pretending to be employees of Gazprom). Everything is the same as in the manhwa. A shootout, Taekju ran into an empty building under construction, Psih's people run after him, etc., then he hears the sound of heels and the door opens in front of his face, he sees a hand and 2 fingers of this hand pierced the eyes of the Taekju pursuer, he was handcuffed to the wall, taken from his shirt to wipe his hand from blood and other fluids. Then, at an event on the occasion of the signing of the treaty, Taekju meets that killer in the restroom and panics again (thinks that he hasn’t experienced such fear for a long time, he needs to leave, etc.), the killer looks at him and shouts at him, but the MC quickly leaves, then in the corridor he receives a message from the headquarters without signatures, just a photo that depicts the same killer. The killer agrees, says that this is the same Psih, he is very dangerous, you should beware of him, he can be connected with the death of Morgan, etc. When the MC mentioned Anastasia for the first time, ML's eyebrows twitched, it was so quick and subtle that Taekju didn't notice. Taekju notices that since this sick killer talks like that about Psih, then he should definitely be avoided , although he does not yet trust the killer, he trusts the headquarters, so he decided to work with him. The killer introduces himself as Zhenya, Taekju thinks it's a pseudonym. He does not give his name to Zhenya. It is worth noting that all this time the MC is in artificial skin, which repeats the face of Hiro Sakamoto. And when Mc was about to close the door after ML left, he stopped the door with the toe of his shoe and said that it would be interesting to skin Taekju. In the Elevator, ML instructs another man to blow up the hotel. Early the next morning, a hotel worker came to Taekju with breakfast, MC thought it was an apology from the director of Gazprom for his absence from the banquet, then he sees a note with the inscription "Boom" you should remember this note, because then there will be a funny incident). Zhenya took him to the shore. I also wanted to catch a taxi and leave, but no one took him because of wet clothes and a peeling mask. Zhenya laughed at him and reached out his hand to rip off the artificial skin. MC resisted, but ML succeeded. He rolled his eyes and said something like: "It's more than...". Taekju noticed that Zhenya was too surprised for someone who had already seen his photo, but did not attach any importance to this (this was not directly mentioned in the novel, but most likely Zhenya had not seen his face before). Then Zhenya gave Taekju a card, allegedly because the persecution would intensify, answered the phone and, without explaining anything to MC, left. MC was left alone, all wet, could not catch cars. Another scene began. Taekju found a hotel near the river, rented the most expensive room (and even it was with cockroaches and dust), called his mother, paid for the call with Zhenya's card, explained to her that he had lost his phone (in fact, all his things were blown up in the hotel, so he now can't even get in touch with headquarters). Then he went to a cafe, paid for the order with a card, but it turned out that it was stolen (although everything was fine before that, apparently, Zhenya did something with the card after 1 payment), so the police arrested him on the spot. Zhenya came, the situation was settled. There was no more talk about the card. Taekju noticed that Zhenya was being followed by someone from the street. Zhenya went out, returned after 3 minutes, but he was no longer wearing a fur coat. Taekju immediately remembered the moment when Zhenya poked the man's eyes with his fingers and wiped his hands on his shirt. Zhenya smiled, realizing what the MC was thinking. Then he took out invitations to a banquet at the Bogdanovs' mansion. Taekju asked if it was normal to hold a banquet if a family member (Psih Bogdanov) died by drowning in the river, to which Zhenya replied that his body was not found in the river, which means Psih is still alive. Then he showed documents that list all of Anastasia's developers, but all of them, except for members of the Bogdanov family, were dead. In the eyes of the MC, there was a special lens developed by NIS that allows you to see some information about a public person that you look at for more than 3 seconds. For example, he looked at the man, and the information "Lomonosov Valery Antonovich, President of Russia" appeared. Then he saw the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia (all have fictitious names). Then Vissarion Romanovich Bogdanov (the head of the family and director of Gazprom), his eldest son Vladimir Vissarionovich Bogdanov and the second son Vasily Vissarionovich Bogdanov appeared on the wheelchair (the 2nd son is the best friend of the President of Russia, but the 1st son also communicates closely with him). They discussed progress on the SS-29 intercontinental ballistic missile, defects that experts from North Korea have found, about the Russian criminal group Zontsev (Sonchef) that is waiting for an expert to fix the problems, they talked about how silence from American spies so far , but we need to get rid of those dastardly rats, and America couldn't even take Morgan's body and so on. Then the sound switched back to Zhenya, who said that Psih had left the room. Taekju asked how he managed to convey the voices of the ministers, to which Zhenya replied that the youngest daughter of Vissarion Bogdanov, Olga, gave Zhenya a tour of the estate and he threw the listeners into the rooms, taking advantage of the chance. Then Taekju thought that Zhenya's personality is much more interesting than Anastasia, because he was invited to a banquet, had a tour, and so on. MC asked ML where he is now, Zhenya was in the basement control room and said that he saw Taekju almost fall from the 3rd floor. When they were leaving, a bodyguard saw them, but Zhenya put both hands into his mouth and began to pull in different directions, as a result, Taekju turned away, because the characteristic sound of tearing flesh sounded. He looked at Zhenya again, and he looked at Taekju, then he looked at the MC's shirt. The MC immediately understood what it meant, said "No" and started to step back, but ML still reached out and touched the MC's shirt. As a result, the MC had to take off his already blood-stained shirt and he threw it in Zhenya's face. MC asked ML why he didn't wear a headscarf, to which ML replied "Why bother?". They ran out into the street, smashed the window of a random car, pushed the driver out, climbed into the car and drove away. The shots stopped for a moment, so Taekju thought that the owner of the car, who is now sitting in fear in the back seat, is a big shot that even the Bogdanov family cannot touch, but the shots began again. Out of the corner of his eye, the MC saw the eldest son of the Bogdanovs, Vladimir, who also shot at the car from the window. When they drove up to the large metal gate, the owner of the car shouted loudly that they would die, since the gate was forbidden, but suddenly the gate began to open. But the owner of the car continued to scream even after they passed the gate. Suddenly a shot rang out and the screaming stopped. Taekju looked at Zhenya with a gun in his hand.
