That doesn’t make sense tho bc with wako the reason he was so self conscious in the first place was cuz his self esteem was low and he knew takeo liked someone in the beginning (he got reminded of that later) so through their whole interaction of transitioning from friends to lovers takeo knew how wako was self deprecating and while I know he got tired of that in the end that was no way to react to wako cuz it’s like showing us that wako was in the wrong in the first place. Well he was overthinking but still I thought the author would have them communicate bout that lil bit instead of victimizing takeo like what
takeo was mad (rightfully) not bc wako was right about him liking ao at first and opening up to being with guys but because wako was implying that the ONLY reason takeo would be with wako was because of his past love and not because takeo just simply loved wako at that point. it almost felt like wako was saying that takeo wasn’t over the past yet and that’s why he’s trying out dating a guy when in reality, takeo has already moved on. yes takeo realized his queerness because of ao in the first book but that doesn’t mean that every man he dates after is just some rebound or “second-best” to ao.
wako was very understandably overthinking because he’d been in a one-sided love for so long but you also cannot say that takeo was wrong for feeling upset that wako was still trying to find excuses to deny takeo’s love despite everything that takeo has done for him.
I kinda felt like it was unfair to get mad at wako when he was right that takeo liked someone and that’s why he said he could go for guys (cuz didn’t he like ao in the first book?) but I’m glad their relationship worked out and they have a good bond with each other
