No to the first question. It’s because he’s the most harmless and the only one who hasn’t hurt the others, the sweetest character. Whereas the other two’s actions just continuously hurt others not giving af about who they hurt and continue to do it. It’s very simple. A sad backstory doesn’t excuse all the trauma they give others. What they both did to kikuchi was revolting.
Is it because Kikuchi is an airhead and is portrayed as a dog that everyone only cheer for him? I do too, but I don't think too badly of the others. Both Kikuchi and Sudo backgrounds are sad af, so it's understandable how it turned out that way.
One might say "but hey, Sudo did them both dirty and was the third wheel". But it was Shintani and Sudo first, and Kikuchi wasn't even in the picture. It was because Kikuchi stole the money and had nowhere to go, that's why he grew closer with Shintani.
Now imagine it went Sudo's route, he'd probably be like Kikuchi now, much more stable as a person because he just yearned for affection, while Kikuchi spiralled down further.
Shintani tried to be loyal to Kikuchi, but he probably felt too responsible for Sudo after getting dragged into his matter several times. Idk about anyone, but personally I wouldn't be able to walk away from someone who might die because of me and be at peace with myself.
So yeah, I'm rooting for the poly to happen. (All need therapy tho lol).
