Finishing this book was a complete out of body experience. It was so immersing and heart gripping such that I did not even feel human after the ending. The demons speak of centuries passing as if it was nothing and the end looming close as if embracing the coldness of the night.

The mentor lost his life for falling deep in love with J yet J did not know of it when W was perishing and it kept haunting him until he buried it deep within. The last moments between J and M felt like surreal and empty. Such is the fragility of the end.

In the beginning, it was passionate and full of drive for the future, yet when M finally made it to the peak, it occurs that victory is but a lonely, endless silence that would go on until he finds someone to surpass him, just as J once did.

It feels like crying yet accepting fate. The child will go through demonhood just as once M did. And just as J perished gripping onto M's heart, M will also perish one day but more likely in a kinder manner.

Ultimately, J was the most glorious and beautiful demon to ever be written for me. Deranged and driven to madness yet a true demon through and through, ending his life on his own terms and taking away the most precious treasure that satiates him while simultaneously ensuring M lives on forever without sacrificing his heart to J.

I cannot feel human anymore. It feels so empty and cruel, yet befitting and true.
