Js love will always be Wald, he loves Makoto as his "savior" but that's it. Imo, makoto low-key got played. He ended up at the top, but that wasn't even what he wanted, he just wanted J to see him/love him back but in the end, J chose to leave.
I'd be hella embarrassed & pissed if I were M, did all that just to end up lonely and dickless
He realized too late that he didn’t want to destroy J, just be seen by him. And then J goes and destroys himself. I’m glad J got the last laugh, but I feel terrible for M.
So... in the end, Jonathan died to follow Wald and left Makoto alone... Now Makoto being the greatest demon has to find/help create demon who will surpass him so he can follow Jonathan... it is truly a loop...
Did Jonathan really loved Makoto tho... I know he did said he loved Makoto once.. but he might be bluffing to shake Makoto up.. imo, Jonathan is still very much in love with his previous owner.. if he really did love Makoto, he wouldn't say his name and shattered away... Jonathan could have just stay together with Makoto but he chooses to leave instead..
