Glad to see I'm not the only one super confused haha For me (and after reading some comments lol) Ran knew that Byaku wasn't planning to kill Rin (that's why he asked the other guy to talk in private). But Ran is jealous, because he thinks that Rin will definitely come back to their house. So he takes Rin into the forest to kill him (which I didn't understand at first but makes much more sense!). Necessarily he betrays Byaku because the mother asked him to protect her child. So he cuts Ran's limbs to stop him (the knife I hadn't seen...). But forgive him :) and boom magical healing sex and happy end ! Great story :D
