I find hope in that ending and here is why: the people who like tragedy can leave it as is, or image that it ends in death down the road, and those of us who like happy endings can imagine that after Daddy dearest kicks the bucket and Tatsumi is out of uni and can support himself and his mom, Senzaki can come after him for revenge and end up in twisted love again instead of death.
