It’s really hard to care about the implications when the premise is built on the fact MC doesn’t really make any choices. I like the guy don’t get me wrong but this all started because he just didn’t want to be a hero everything that has transpired is happening to him there are very few choices he’s making independently he just reacts to things as they occur. Which is fine for slice of life but when we are jumping from battle to battle with intricately drawn character fights as an audience there has to be something at stake but there isn’t. It’s not like he’s particularly connected to the kingdom, he doesn’t like fighting, he’s not really bothered about pursuing justice and all of those things make us like him it just means the plot has to do better world building to capitalise off of that. It’s like this is trying to be that time i got reincarnated as a slime or re:monster but isn’t actually committing
