Cuz his past self grew up as orphan and rat. He self taught himself. Meanwhile the current him, was taught by professional instructors not to mention he inherited the power of their bloodline.
I think just in overall swordsmanship and professionally taught.
In his past life he was an assassin and had to sneakily kill his opponents any way he could, now he has technique and battle knowledge, not just experience.
