I really confused. Was it all that necessary to put rape trop here when author doesn't even explore all the consequences of this type of violence? Is it even was so necessary for plot? In my opinion it would not change a thing if they would hurt each other in anyway other less harmful way. You can't just casually rape someone just because you were drunk, not with the type of hero we have here. It just doesn't make sense. Only a true disgusting monster would do that, and never would he be repent about it. It's like it all was for some fetish, just a rape for the sake of it.
