Gotta go back to her gamer roots

Just a guy March 17, 2024 2:04 pm

As angsty and harrowing as all these new developments are, I do think it's kind of funny/ironic that Penelope didn't forsee this possibility with Eclis before now. Like, the whole reason any of this is happening is because girl got herself trapped in an otome game. Bad ends with an obsessed yandere are a pretty common feature in otome games. Penelope's gotta get good.

In all seriousness, I understand why someone realistically would forget about game mechanics when they're constantly afraid for their life, but still. Kinda funny that all this drama is still par for the course in a dating sim.

I mean there's no way she would know because she never actually finish the game since she keep getting executed. And she never knew that Yvonne is such manipulative bitch.

I disagree. Like the other person said. She never finished the game. She died every single time before the coming of age event. Eclis never became a yandere (wasn't twisted)in the game both in Yvonne playthrough while in og Penelope playthrough she couldn't have known.

Imagine getting isekaid in idk Code realize or Tokimeki girl side games. There are no yandere in this game (some say Saint Germain is a yandere. They're delusional. The guy kidnapped Cardia/mc because he was ordered not because he loved her). If you get isekaid in this very fluff, optimistic, raindow colored games you wouldn't expect the character to be twisted. Same way if you get isekai in an otome you haven't like Tengoku struggle (a new otoge coming this year), you have no clue how the characters will be.

I don't think initially in the game if you play as Yvonne (the super easy route) that there were many bad ends at all? It seemed that she was loved through and through by all the male leads too.

Yes I'd agree with the survival instinct really killing away all rational thought about game mechanics lol. Now it ain't as simple as 100% = clear

I shave to add too that Penelope never played otome games before this one. This is her first otome game that was recommended to her by a friend bc it was popular. And like said before in the OG game there was no yandere LIs. Thus she prob doesn't know this unpopular/popular trope in the genre

Yeah. In the og game. Yvonne's story is very smooth sailing with everyone spoiling and just naturally liking loving her. The only villain in the story was Penelope. We can assume Yvonne only obstacles are her remembering her past and birthright and surviving Penelope's bullying.

She did finish the game as Yvonne to unlock hard mode which was Penelope though? Just that she didn't experience it fully from Penelope's perspective.

And she mentioned how it was easy to win over the love interests as Yvonne, but no mention (thus far) of how the objective was completed

No. I don't remember where in the novel, but no. Penelope's playthrough was an expensive and money grabbing DLC. It shows once in the webtoon too. If Penelope dies in a bad end she has to PAY real money to restart. The Penelope's story is hard because 1) too many unreasonable bad ends 2) the Penelope micro transaction of og Penelope's playthrough discourage people to play it ergo there ARE no guide online = Reason why Siyeon (sorry if wrote wrong) keeps failing and never went past the coming of age event. He can assume the dlc was added later recently.
