I suppose I always knew that this was going to have a bittersweet ending, but it felt more bitter than sweet. I'm sad and disappointed but only because I wanted happier endings for the characters and not because I thought the ending was bad. Actually, I felt the ending was very good and fitting, and I think the author did a phenomenal job writing this whole story. But still, I'm sad.
Trying to find a manga about this really nice high school boy I read some time ago. The whole story is literally about what a wholesome and normal kid he is. The boy was just a normal looking guy with dark hair and glasses. I think eventually a girl at his school develops a crush on him after he helps her. This ringing any bells for anybody?
I don't know what happened to the storyline, but if it wasn't axed, it was certainly overhauled and rewritten. The earlier chapters really made it seem like we were going to meet each Princess and King's Branch as our characters grew and developed. It's absolutely crazy to me that the most recent chapter decided "nah, 10 of the princesses-branch duos have already been defeated offscreen, don't even worry about them and all the different fairytale interpretations we could have shown you. No sir, it's just this one terrible guy and his milk-toast girlfriend." Like, beyond Mikel and Rapunzel reuniting, what am I even supposed to be invested in anymore?
