This manga was terrible dramatic nonsense BUT I will give it flowers for getting a genuine laugh out of me in Chapter 38. It was very funny watching Nobunaga get punched to death, 10/10 would read that part again.
Kudos to all the fans trying to justify Riftan to his haters, but that's not my hill to die on. I actually LOVE that Riftan is the world's biggest emotionally-unregulated manbaby. It makes him more interesting! There's a hundred other stories on this website alone of the poor, abused FL learning to grow and value herself due to the love and support of a strong and perfect man. Those can be fun to read too, but I personally prefer watching two deeply traumatized individuals desperately want to love each other and be together and just be really bad at it. I want to watch them get better! As slow and frustrating as that journey may be, haha.

His whole life is dedicated to her. From the moment he laid his eyes on her he knew what he wanted. He may get angry and might not want her to do things but it's because he's scared and cares. But I also understand maxi she's always been sheltered, learned how it feels to be loved, and now wants to become a stronger better version of herself not only for riftan but herself. I love this story. One of my favorites. Frustrating oh yes most definitely. But it's also amazing to see them fall in love more and more and grow as people and as a couple.

Is it just me or does Bihwan look different in the side stories? Maybe I'm just going crazy, but I remember that the artists each draw one of our two main leads, and I'm convinced that only one of them is doing the art for the side stories. I'm not seeing anyone else mention this in comments so do I just not remember what Bihwan looks like after the story was on break for half a year???

I don't know what happened to the storyline, but if it wasn't axed, it was certainly overhauled and rewritten. The earlier chapters really made it seem like we were going to meet each Princess and King's Branch as our characters grew and developed. It's absolutely crazy to me that the most recent chapter decided "nah, 10 of the princesses-branch duos have already been defeated offscreen, don't even worry about them and all the different fairytale interpretations we could have shown you. No sir, it's just this one terrible guy and his milk-toast girlfriend." Like, beyond Mikel and Rapunzel reuniting, what am I even supposed to be invested in anymore?

I suppose I always knew that this was going to have a bittersweet ending, but it felt more bitter than sweet. I'm sad and disappointed but only because I wanted happier endings for the characters and not because I thought the ending was bad. Actually, I felt the ending was very good and fitting, and I think the author did a phenomenal job writing this whole story. But still, I'm sad.
I am both thrilled that this finally updated and absolutely devastated that it ended on another terrible cliffhanger. The mangaka is a sadist, man.
I went back to read the previous season, because I hated what season 5 was doing and I wanted to remind myself of the good times..... You guys, the last chapter of the last season ends with Taesung treating Haebom roughly and literally asking himself "how is this any different from rape"? I hate to say it, but I think the seeds for the nonsense that is season 5 were always there. The author didn't have to go ahead and plant them and continue to ruin the story, but I think it's clear that they've wanted to for a while.
I truly don't want anything bad to happen to our boys, but unfortunately, I do think something dangerous/tragic is going to have to happen to Seo Eunseong in order for Lee Taegun to get over this depressing hangup he's got over their relationship, in a "don't know what you've got 'til it's gone" sort of way. I'm not happy about it, but I don't see anything else getting through to him. With all that being said, Kang Jaeha, serve your role to the story and then gtfo of here!
These boys are truly one of a kind. I don't think I've EVER read something where I love a relationship so much, am so convinced that two people are perfect together, and also am not entirely sure if they will (or should) make it in the end. They're both so young and so in love, but being physically separated like that is a real challenge, especially for the person left behind. Things will probably work out for these two because this is just a manga, but realistically I'd be on Nagisa's mom's side of wanting her son to have his own life outside of waiting for Issa, even if that meant breaking up eventually.
