it really baffles me when they say 'no i'm not gay it's just because it's you' uhmm clearly you're leaning towards gay because your partner is of same sex unless you can do it with a girl then you're bi

agreed. And he could just simply be bisexual... and I also heard from some of my acquaintances that usually they are straight but then there's this single person they turn gay for, but for the rest of the world they're straight

I would actually just say they're both heterosexual males in a homosexual relationship. Your orientation is essentially a sexual preference; very similar to a 'type' that people like. There can be an exception to your usual preference without changing what your instinctual preference is. Sexual orientation is not related to gender identification in any way. If you prefer one gender over another, then that is fine tuning in the space of your sexual orientation. I value gender identities, but when it comes to sexual orientation it's pretty clean cut. Humans can only be one of two sexes and you can only be into one, both, or neither based off of sex. Gender is a much more diverse field so it's not that simple when you want to base things off of that. To me that's closer to the personality part of the person. Not that it tells you their personality, but sometimes it can give you some insight (like avoiding landmines in social interaction).

It would have to be one particular person that would make a guy or girl be attracted to the person of the same gender. If a guy/girl is attracted to another guy/girl but not all guys/girls in general, then it's really that one particular person that he/she would be attracted to. It's a matter of personal preference. The only way that would happen as if the guy/girl actually makes a move on another guy/girl or confesses to, then that tells you everything.
