Omega verse enjoyers: What do you think of "it wasn't really him, it was his rut

Because there are quite a few manga with the trope of abuse being brushed off with that excuse, especially when the alpha doesn't have any memory of it. Personally I wish more omegas would get like actually mad afterwards. But some people think it's fine at best, questionable at worst. What's the consensus here?
