Righttt like why did the author need to include r4pe? bc the translations a lil wonky I assumed mc was js roughed up in her previous life but then villain was r4ped nd like literally everyone showed up after she was already abandoned like come on bro it really wasn’t necessary

Welp... this is definitely based on a dog-blood drama novel... and sa and grape are just another cliché of their soap opera... the cuckoo occupying the nest (step/half/adopted sister or changed at birth true daughter being brought in), cheating, miscarriages, op ml thats cold to everyone but mc, dr*g abuse, aphrodisiacs, gambling, etc... are the clichés of Chinese soap opera... same with mc having 5yo geniuses as her kids. You can't really take it to seriously to read it.

If we're comparing taboos/crimes... koran romance also have a lot of abuse, from child abuse to physical and mental and some grape as well. Same with jp romance, even more if they involve smut. Actually they are even worse cuz 90% of the smut is sa'ing the mc until they "consent" to seggs, which let's be honest, is no different from grape... the hs shoujo ones are better on this point... but can be a little too naive and innocent instead.

I just rotate between the 3 to vary the kind of clichés...

Totally feel you bro, honestly the thing that makes this feel so unserious is the lack of organization, they kinda js throw all the cliches in there, I’ve been reading a lot or Korean manhua lately so I can’t really say I’m mad abt this book, honestly it’s a fun pastime

Yep! After some time and reading both Chinese novels and their comics I understood why they feel so unorganized compared with the others. Its the scene changes. They are more abrupt and "erratic"
Most novels and manga are like books, separated in chapters. Those chapters are usually structured to have a beginning and ending, so when we end one we have a smal sense of completeness even if the ending is a cliffhanger. The Chinese novels and comics don't have those that defined. They feel more like a friend talking to you and spilling the tea about the characters than you reading a book about the characters... something like that...
But honestly the novels feel way less abrupt than the comics. I honestly recommend it more than the comics. And on that note... pay attention to the length of it befor you start. Some novels have 2k+ chapters, some even more than 5k. I'd recommend to look for the shorter ones (150 to 600ch) to start with.

And if you are like me and get bored with long stories I'd recommend the world-hopping genre. Same mc incarnating in different people with different backgrounds, settings and plots. Think "Cheating men must die", at first I thought it was based on a comic and searched for it to read but is an original work... you'll find female mc, male mc, bg, bl(bottom mc is more commonbut theres top mcs too), gl, with romance, with romantic interest being always the same, being different people, without romance...
If I'd complain about something about the chinese works in general... is the extreme lack of smut... most times it's... just hinted at like the comics... still good reads tho
