Honestly if we were in his perspective, after being disowned bcs of him being gay and seeing that his lover might be interested at the thoughts of having kids, knowing that you can't give what he wanted because of you both being a same sex couple is tough. Mentioning again the trauma he has being disowned by his parents (heavily implied that he was disowned for being gay). Yeah, the other guy is in love with him and he clearly knows that, but he wanted to give him the life he assumed he wanted. A better life (meaning a life with a family he can't give). He took the chance of making the ml disregard his presence when he lost his memories, it was honestly a more selfless thing to do rather than selfish as he remembers and ml does not. Ml is apologizing for 'making him suffer' and even if he wasn't the direct cause or even the entire cause, Mc was suffering all on his own still. They didn't miscommunicate, they communicate really well. It's just that there are times trauma acts up which causes a person to lash out which is what caused the incident, they didn't miscommunicate.
