She's mad because Dietrich's dead can be avoided if Wilhem informed him about the ambush or something. Basically very shallow reason and doesn't make sense for her to be mad for a long time

Yes, he tried to kill Dietrich. He knew there was going to be an ambush where Dietrich was going and let him go. Then he went and took the cloth Rein gave Dietrich because he was jealous and lied to Rein that Dietrich's belongings weren't found. He did this because he noticed that Rein cares for Dietrich and doesn't look at him as a romantic option, just as a boy she raised. He knew Dietrich had to be removed from the picture to change her impression of him.

There is a point in the story where Rein confronts him about this and he tries to lie and say that:

    - He has the cloth because he planned to give it to Rein, but he didn't want to make her sad so he kept it the whole time. Bullshit, we saw him pissed about it

    - That he also cared about Dietrich, he cries as though he cared about Dietrich. More bullshit, later on she has Dietrich meet with him and his first reaction is to exclaim and reach for his sword. Rein realizes he was lying because of this, since if he were telling the truth then the context here would be that his beloved friend/mentor/father figure has miraculously returned from the grave, but he reacts like that

    - That his memories weren't back yet at the time of the ambush, they came back too late. More bullshit she catches him on because she talks to another soldier that was there who tells her Wilhelm was amazing in the battle, that he took charge and gave commands so well that it was like he already knew what was going to happen

Wilhelm is actually a manipulative psychopath, he puts up a cute, puppy type facade for Rein while doing all sorts of heinous shit in the background and lying to her constantly
