She chose her partner based off power, we learn that in more recent chapters when she says she would've chosen kael if she's knew this would happen.
Anyway she shunned Kael and in so many words along with helios drove him to his suicide, because Kael killed someone I think. People hate her sm because she acts as though she's holier than holy and deserves only the high road, that anything she does cannot be wrong and she is faultless.
In reality tho she is just as manipulative and cunning as hestia, just not preformed as well. She forces her beliefs and practices on others too and tbh that's just not fruity fresh tbh.
As a Queen, she has a duty to do what is best for her peope, she's doing what is best for her based on her morals and standards, next thing is that she never loved Helios or Kael, she only chose Helios because he had the most money and power and he was infatuated with her, now that she's starting to see cracks in that 'love' she wants to run back to Kael. She's also trying to put the temple at a higher position by bringing them into the temple, (that's disregarding what your people ate saying and a person like that isn’t fit to be in power), she also knows about all the evil things the temple is doing but because god 'chose' her, she thinks whatever they are doing is right and people should just fall to their feet and worship them
