I forgot Ian went to jail

How could y’all support or root for the literal person that sent Ian packing to jail I’m crying

The hate and visceral anger I would have would push me over the edge

that's toxic plus remember in the flashback we saw TJ ordered some of his men with money to restrain Ian a week back telling about the place where Ian would go but things went awry & Ian fell from the 2nd floor ..All TJ wanted is for Ian to stop with going pro but things fucked up so Ian ended up quitting street racing & Ian knows it was TJ's doing but he makes sure that TJ doesn't confessed about it

You need to prepare yourself to get harassed for your comment because TJ stans will come and give justification for his actions saying he sent Ian to jail because he loved him. So if you love someone the next thing you have to do to prove that love of yours is send them to jail. Peace.

it's pretty obvious why tj did that even when it was a horribly shitty thing to do that shouldn't be forgiven. it's sad ian forgave him or moved on from what tj did to him.

why tj did that was bc it was shown that ian was unable to handle the guilt of killing a person, and he called tj in a panic of not knowing what to do. they had that talk about ian thinking there's something wrong with him and that he isn't normal for what he's done. and that's why tj told the lawyers to give ian two years. bc ian would probably have let the guilt kill him or go back to addiction if ian thought he got away with killing someone by paying some lawyers to plead self defense.

before anyone twists my words or some bullshit bc ik yall mfs crazy here, i am not defending tj nor am i tj stan bc that's what yall like to call people if god forbid they discuss tj's actions. what tj did is wrong and horrible and should not be forgiven by ian tbh, but it is explained why he did that to ian. not because "tj loves him so he sent him to jail" but in tj's fucked up pov, ian was mentally unstable and couldn't handle the guilt of killing someone without being punished for it so that's what tj did selfishly in hopes of showing him how hard the clean life is so he'd stay in the gang.

Some of us don't care to view this story from a strictly realistic point of view. We can enjoy these characters and events without going all purity police or pseudo psychotherapists to shame anyone who doesn't agree with us. TJ and Ian are the kind of fated soulmates, driven toxic by their environment, with unparalleled intimacy and oassion, who are mostly unsuited for each other at this point based on their choices. But we can't help but hope there's a way for them to get the life they should've had together. You do you, and let others do them.

Who said all of that lol?

All I said was why would you support someone who harmed and disavowed Ian to the point that he now seeks normalcy..

Heck I even like to view these stories in the realm of context that they provide.. but this is just too toxic to the point that I want the best for Ian.. and in my mind that’s not tying Ian to someone who’s responsible for so much of his harm and suffering.. lol but I guess you mind it because you’re spewing this serenade that to any reader would be considering condoning ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Heck, you explaining this makes it even worse..

So to ensure his habits that were self-destructive and damaging die out.. he sends his henchmen?? And then sends him to an environment that would not only exacerbate his self-blaming but would incite him to feel loneliness??

That loneliness was probably a ruse for him to get Ian to tie himself to TJ

sorry what henchmen exactly? you mean the lawyers? i genuinely dk what you mean what did the henchmen do to ian in prison and what chapter is that.

in ian's mind he was blaming himself and thinking something is wrong with him, so if he got off free he would continue to blame himself or go back to addiction or whatever. if ian goes to prison and does his time, he'd feel like he got what he deserved and that he received punishment and won't feel guilty about it.

that's an interesting way to look at it tbh i was thinking tj did it more so he could show ian how difficult it is to live a normal clean life where you go to jail for your crimes and are a law abiding citizen. and then that would make ian not want to leave the gang, bc tj was trying to tie ian down in any way like he said himself.

Thanks for proving how you're incapable of accepting others have different ways of viewing fictional stories.
