Finder no Souen - chapter 2, part 5 - SPOILERS (and a WARNING, not for the faint of heart, this is dark stuff, even though I made it as brief as possible)

So... this is the tough part that one of our Anonymous posters had already mentioned. You have been warned...

Kuroda was heading to the train station to go to cram school when the gang, that had been threatening him, extorting him and beating him up before, got hold of him. The kidnapped him and he was taken away, bound, blindfolded and drugged. He is taken to an empty room in an underground club and then gang raped repeatedly by the gang (10 men in total) who take turns and keep giving him more drugs. Kuroda loses track of time (and also consciousness at some point), but it seems this has been going on for days. When he no longer reacts to what is being done to him, the boss of the gang wants to dispose of him by shooting him dead. That's when Asami shows up and kills every single one of them with his knife, until only the leader of the gang is left standing. The gang leader puts a gun to Kuroda's head, threatening to kill him, if Asami doesn't put down the knife. Asami does so, but as the gang leader goes for the knife, Asami kicks the gun away from him. The gang leader then pulls out his own knife. He and Asami circle each other. Kuroda takes hold of the gun and aims at the gang leader, but Asami tells him not to shoot the man. Asami manages to break the gang leader's hand and then, getting him in a chokehold, breaks his neck. Asami then tells Kuroda to give him the gun as he had no need for it. Asami finds the keys and frees Kuroda from his handcuffs. Noticing he has been drugged, Asami looks around and finds the syringe with the drug they gave Kuroda and pockets it (personal note: I guess to give it to the doctors at the hospital, so they know what they're dealing with). Asami then puts his jacket around Kuroda and tells him he is glad to have found him in time (personal note: okay, that's relative...). Kuroda then loses consciousness.

*****

I find it so profoundly sad that Asami made sure it would be him who killed the gang leader, and not Kuroda. I mean, Asami is still a teenager, too. He prevented Kuroda from becoming a killer, thus saving that last bit of innocence that Kuroda had left. :(

@Kyouran both statements. well thought out and written. This shows why Asami is so feared in the underworld. He is ruthless. He won't just send some one else to do it, he will do it himself. No wonder Kuroda said he did not want to get him involved in the mess with Sudo.

I just engaged with you for the first time in this conversation, so I don't think it's going in circles; however, in the spirit of harmony I will have to agree to disagree with your position and retire from the... kyouran

When I said the conversation was going in circles, it was because you entered an already lengthy conversation by making very similar statements that had already been made and that I had already responded to. Hence: circles. Nothing to get so starchy about.

And you are making a leap in building an argument around a word I never used. I never said "moral tone." That is NOT my position. I only said tone, referring to the feel of the story, as in one "feels" lighter in "tone" than the other.

So I never said there was a moral gap. That's not even what I'm talking about. What I said (repeatedly) is that the difference in literary tone (NOT moral tone) makes it very difficult to reconcile what Asami witnesses in Finder No Souen with the behavior of Asami in the manga. That doesn't have to do with whether or not Asami has or would commit a rape that brutal as it does with the fact that he could rape an innocent person given this new history he has with rape.

The tone of the manga was rather slick and light and not realistic, and so the rape of Akihito was more in the ravishment fantasy realm and Asami is a roguish romantic figure within that fantasy. But the novel provides us with new information on Asami's history that changes the lens on what happened in the manga because there is a difference in literary tone. Now we have to take rape seriously because it is presented seriously. Asami has seen real rape, has seen its impact on someone he cares about. With this new information, the romantic rogue committing rape begins to look callous.

I also don't believe there's a wrong or right to this argument that can be supported by endless citations from the manga. Some people will be able to reconcile this. Some won't.

Don't get me wrong. I was only trying to say that as Kuroda can turn a blind eye about Asami's business, even a journalist can do the same thing (even an honest person as Aki can finish doing something shady to... LadyLigeia

asami didn't use akihito and didn't want him to enter his world ! and don't even need him in his business . remember what kuruda said to asami you don't have the intent to use him.... akihito wanted to help him coz he wanted asami and him to be on the same level, but akihito thanks to sudoh finally understand that he is different from others, his subordinates and friends "love" him to the level to sacrifice themselves coz asami know how to lead his organisationn he is very inteligent and always one step ahead, he know how to benefit optimum from the circumstances and have kind of code of honor and he is not hypocrite he is true to himself..

Possibly Asami didn't want that but allowed Aki to investigate to get information. Even if probably he didn't want it completely, nothing refrained Asami to say 'Yes, do what you want' using Aki -I don't know how much unvoluntarily- to get something that might be useful to him.

You're no friend of hers if you talk about her and post her name here in public and do what she asked you not to. She's known by that name by sensei and sensei's friends, but you'd know that since you're great ... @Anonymous

Oh dear, you're not all that great at reading comprehension, are you, honeybun...?
    1. I said I was a long-time member and friend of her "friends only" GROUP. I didn't say anythng about being "great friends with HER". So I suggest you stop putting words in other people's mouth.
    2. Who brought the group into this? Not me. YOU. Who brought the translator into this? Not me. YOU. Because prior to you running your cowardly little anon mouth here, I didn't mention group or the person doing the summaries for that particular group AT ALL.
    3. You still claim I was doing what she "told me not to do". BULLCRAP. As I told you three times already and as several people here have confirmed: I did absolutey NOTHING wrong. Several people here have been talking about the contents of the novel including the gang rape and the epilogue BEFORE I posted this brief bit of info (which is basically what someone had already posted earlier). NONE of us violated her requests or any copyright (because guess what, it's actually LEGAL and OKAY to talk about the contents of a book in public!!!): We did not post any of the pictures (per her request) or her verbatim summaries (per her request). All of us, including myself, only posted some pieces of info from the NOVEL and NO SUMMARY (and that includes myself, which of course, you KNOW, you just don't have the backbone to admit you were WRONG about that part). I also told you several times that I had TWO sources of information with regards to the novel. What do you think our esteemed translator is? The only person who has access to the book? Don't be ridiculous! There is a TON of people online doing summaries of the novel at the moment (LJ, Tumblr and Facebook included).
    4. Of course I know the whole "ooooh, don't mention M's name or something terrible will happen to her because of sensei" rubbish. And because of you saying that and because of the wording you used, I now know EXACTLY who YOU are. Funny. I didn't take you for being such a bullshit talking coward. And you know what? I mentioned M's name because she did nothing that would make mentioning her name a problem whatsoever. She basically did a book review. She just told people what the novel was about. Period. She didn't translate anything verbatim. So there is ZERO reason not to mention her name in this context (and turst me, *I* KNOW when not to!). Also, my other source's name also starts with an M. So what are you going to do now? Who are you to say which "M" I'm even referring to? M is a fucking LETTER, SUN...shine. I could be referring to pretty much anybody. And please don't give me the crap about "sensei and her friends". M is not even a pimple on sensei's ARSE. That woman has other problems than people writing a book review in English or German on one of her novels.
    5. Bottom line: I didn't do ANYTHING WRONG. You are WRONG. Several people have in fact TOLD you that you are WRONG. Yet you won't admit that you are WRONG. And you know what: At the end of the day, I don't fucking care. You can take your coward's ass and take it to where the sun doesn't shine. As Lisa said in her post above: You know shit about anything, you just pretend like you do, because it makes you feel better. So here is how people feel abou that "opinion" of yours:

Still no answer? I KNEW IT. You are nothing but a fucking coward and a hypocrite who pretends she is in the know but knows absolutely NOTHING. FUCK YOU, YOU STUPID CUNT.
