They’re into pedo and r*pe fetishes. Most of these authors are pretty open about it on their twitters if you can read it. I’ve also seen lots of translation notes where authors will straight up describe a r*pe scene they drew talking about how it was so hot. I remember reading that on an omegaverse comic where some people in the manga assault the main character and get caught by the romantic lead. I too was very confused about this until I saw that. More people need to understand that in Asia there is a different and very problematic idea about fiction and serious issues with sexualizing kids. They don’t draw lines in adult material or erotica. A lot of the stuff you can find on these sites is NOT legal in other countries. This one would def be considered csam in most countries. And because it’s all flooded all over the web since the creation of the internet, it’s seeped into weeb culture in the west that doesn’t get that authors aren’t trying to “make a point” about assault or “show the horror of it”. They’re just getting off on it and so are a lot of the people mindlessly reading it outside of Japan. In japan, they’re VERY MUCH aware of what it means to like shotacon. They’re just super chill with cp/csam. They’ve been asked to crack down on it by other nations..repeatedly. But it’s super baked into their culture unfortunately.
