thats okay and all but you have to admit its weird if the author itself didn't intend for it to go that way nor wrote it with that genre tweak in mind. ks isnt the greatest example but i cant think of anything better that most would know too lolol. and sure, lets separate the work from the creator but when the work is so obviously framed to glorify it it becomes weird. like jinx forexample, where its so obvious the aim is just two guys fucking with a subplot (the subplot being A PLOT) & full of non-con some-con ig. i hope u get what i mean but it just feels icky and makes me wonder what the appeal is if the work itself is weird. sure, its meant to make u feel weird abt reading it, but when framed like that its odd. just flat out weird. yeah, I think what’s throwing you off so much is the fact that the author doesn’t plan to make him better. Usually like the plot is they get better they love each other. But they just have a weird type of obsession or at least Cesar does. There is no saving or a redeeming ply if they just keep pushing it because that’s who he is and he’s not changing. That’s why mc just accepted it and moved on. When I was reading it, I was upset because he just kept doing stuff and he wasn’t getting any repercussions for anything. But this is the type of story that is, he doesn’t get better doesn’t wanna get better. He doesn’t realize that he hast to get better because he doesn’t. He got the MC being who he is. He’s a bad person and he’s gonna stay a bad person. I’m more for a redeeming kind of plot than just, “he’s a bad person but, oh well”. But I can see the appeal and I do like the story.

although i don't expect a sudden 180 switch of him doing better and even don't mind if he got worser, i guess the issue is how the story doesn't make it out to be a problem in itself. (i havent read it nor intend to because i heard all sorts of bad stuff abt this story and believe it to be like jinx). i can handle a plot where everyones bad too if the story MAKES the character out to be a bad guy and not just some "hot guy who got away with it ajd forgiven" thing yk if that makes sense.. i don't hate redemptions either and do like them when done too and also if the character crashes down mid-redemption because it's obvious there will be failures in change, and if a character wont ever change to begin with. my fault with most stories is hust that tthey dont PAINT the character as a bad guy and will instead make them out to be this guy whos just got flaws but he's hot so just forgive him and thirst for him. like booktok weirdos

Look, it's understandable it if you personally are upset because the story didn't present its themes a certain way. Its completely normal. What isn't is you accusing people who DO enjoy it as "fucked in the head".
It doesnt matter if it's glorified. I cannot stress this enough. Booktok girlies should be able to enjoy their silly books without people assuming the worst. Just because the story isn't pulling an author's note to assure the reader that "Hey guys!!! This is bad!!!! Get it????? Super no-no behavior!!!" Doesnt mean the readers don't get it.

If that’s what you’re looking for this story is not for you and I cannot stress that. He’s not going to get better. There is no redemption arc. This is who he is. The MC has come to realize that and loves him regardless but there is no redemption arc because he doesn’t want to be redeemed. He just wants to love the MC. If you and I know that he’s not a good person then why does the author have to tell you that he’s not a good person. You’re reading the story you know he’s a bad person, you know he’s doing deplorable things, but it’s a story you have to separate life from fiction. I don’t need to know every five chapters that he’s a bad person. When I know he’s a bad person he’s an evil person. I know that he knows that it’s not hidden it’s not disguised I don’t need to know every five chapters that he’s a bad person. When I know he’s a bad person he’s a evil person. I know that he knows that it’s not hidden it’s not disguised it’s in your face enough as it is.
