OMG! I think of the exact same thing! I'm reading that manga hoping for a happy end, but some are just too crazy! When I see the fanarts or read the comments, I'm asking myself what's wrong in this society! I don't this that this kind of stories shouldn't exist, actually it's the exact opposite. I want them to exist, so we can also learn more about the world. I'm surrounded by "normal life" (for which I'm grateful), had the normal childhood, never saw mobbing at school etc. So I ended up being pretty naïv. I mean, I do see news about war, raping and other horrible and I feel sad what miserable and pitiful and hateful creatures we are, but these twisted stories from books/mangas let you feel those emotions of a victim and sometimes even those of a culprit. I feel grateful towards those mangakas who try to send a message through their work, but to love those mangas in such a twisted way like imagining the couple in a bathtub filled with blood and feel happy about it...? What's wrong with you guys?!
It really depends on who you ask. I would actually rather be murdered than raped. But that is because I already have mental issues so rape would just make me snap. Like I would just need to either die or be locked up. I don't have the mental strength to survive it.
you also said wonderful words... News about deaths, rape and all sorts of criminal acts saddens me.... I also agree with what you are saying that "these horrible mangas" exist to give us lesson about how we must be grateful that we are living peacefully and what is the feeling in that horrible situation...

honestly. if this is how the author feels that rape should be romanticized, that says a lot about her. it would be fine if she obsessively wrote about them in a s/m relationship, because it would have sadistic stuff but it’s consensual. i honestly thought the ending would be yule being in a mental institution and kyung-soo starting an organization for sexual assault/rape victims. oh boy that ending hit me hard.
