I don't understand why she didn't raise him to be obnoxious and expect the world? Like if she raised him to be a carbon copy of herself... she'd have less concerns... though I guess she still wants him to be submissive to her so she's calling the shots not him. Is it just that she's punishing him for being an omega??
Kinda, she wanted a alpha son she could easily put in the throne (and obviously she would be the real power behind) . Torturing Etienne like that is the only way she still can achieve her goal.
In the novel Etienne saw her nanny being killed (obviously because her mother forced him to watch)
