I read a commenter in another site say that in the novel spin-off where basically Charles (the baby in this story) grew up as the reincarnation of Karel and found his Sasya in a more modern timeline, his Sasya there is actually diagnosed with Manic disorder, but it's not affecting his life that badly since he got help early on. So that has been his affliction in this one too, except this timeline is clearly going the bad route for his character instead.
I don’t think yall get that Saysa is very bipolar coded. He is going through a manic episode and is going through mania. He relies so much on Karel for happiness. He needs help and not Karel
