Ik this isn’t that situation, but it’s similar. The one parent who neglects the child because they just automatically assumed that they are sided with the other parent based on how manipulated they are. You don’t think that maybe if they were abused, they would have deeper thoughts of leaving or potentially finding an escape SOMEHOW?? I get the idea of thinking he’s so afraid, he’ll keep doing what his mom wants him to, but he never though he retaliate is some mind-boggling dumbass thinking and it makes me wonder how tf is he the emperor.
