Basically according to the novel all of them have huge inferiority complexes towards emi, cuz ofc she's so amazing, the dumbass prince felt comforted by Pina who acts useless and is brainless and also all of them idiot men enjoyed how emi acted worried and troubled about Pina getting close to them, the adopted brother and the prince is by far the worst in my opinion, so basically willard or smthn wanted to break the engagement to "educate" emi so that she'll tone done her brilliance and excellence a bit and learn from pina's "demure submissive weak" act, then after she gets banished to that village for a while he'll take her in as a concubine, meanwhile the adopted brother encouraged pina's actions with the other bastards so that when the stupid prince breaks off the engagement he'll take emi for himself as his wife. Then the two pathetic bastards which is the knight and the musician are just inadequate and inferior that they put down emi for their own self satisfaction.
Trash the lot of them. They really weren't affected that much by the love potion, it only made Pina less of a nuisance in their eyes and more like a tool to hurt emi then get her back.

One way of torturing her is peeling a part of her flesh rubbing salt on it then make a goat lick it that way she experience excruciating pain but that's not it I have to do it every single day until she goes crazy but of course I won't let her die that easy so we gotta heal her from time to time so she can experience mental and physical discomfort then on the final execution I have to execute her multiple times with a rusty axe so that it won't completely kill her over and over again in front of everyone
