Not really. I've read lots of action, and BL, and action BL, and the problems I have mostly with them aren't the same with this one. I'm not hating on the MCs and saying they're too overpowered, I honestly think their skills and prowess are the most reasonable ones here, especially because they're S-Classes. What I'm frustrated on is that the S Classes and A Classes don't seem special to me, Some of them are hunters who are supposed to have lots of experience but can't even have common sense in a team fight. Oh and the monster design is pretty ugly. But besides that, I like this manhwa. Seo Chaeyoon is heartbreaking
I think bcs they are chosen by gaia? That's why they are stronger. I dont really remember if all S classes are chosen but I think not?
Exactly! There are only a few chosen people and a lot of them were in that Great Dungeon and died. So the power scaling might seem off but it makes sense why they would be so much stronger. Only thing is it would be nice to see the others demonstrate their strength more.
The reason for the power imbalance is because the story isn’t trying to tell a typical action story where the MC gets stronger and fights monsters beyond their scope. The main conflict of this story isn’t saving the world, rather it’s chaeyoon trying to find a way to die.
The reason the MCs are so OP is probably cause that’s the only way this story could work.
It’s definitely a little misleading cause the action scenes are so cool and the side characters actually get substantial development but the power scaling of the MCs were never the real driving force of the story, so there was never any real reason for the MCs to not be OP as hell
Talking from my experience reading romance with action be it BL GL or straight, the author usually doesn't care that much in developing the side characters they are just there and more than often their role is only to emphasize or as measurement for MC and ML power. I think thats what happen here, which the author decide to only focus on MC and ML characters thats why the others A/S rank seems weak because there wasnt any spotlight for them in the first place.
( It would be different if its an action with romance. )
Don't get me wrong I'm liking this manhwa but the difference of power between the MCs and all the other hunters is driving me crazy. Why are the S and A classes so fucking weak? Seo Yoon and Kwon Jihan always have to carry their fucking asses cause they're all damn wimps!!! Even the "S Classes" are lame as hell
