Well dduuhh obviously she's not that bad and she didn't ask to be put in the situation she's in where she has no experience
But her incompetence led to Dorothy getting whipped for standing up for Emilia and Ophelia
It led to someone else getting hurt
Idk about people who disliked her before much of her was revealed, I personally didn't, but people have the right to dislike or be annoyed by a characters actions UNTIL they get their character development
Elodie herself is aware she's weak and doesn't know how to handle her new environment
What she may not know at the moment is that she's catering to the wrong people
Though she may be kind, she has to grow a backbone like I said which I'm sure she'll do (or have to do) later on
All in all, the author has a done a wonderful job of potraying a character with complex emotions that illicit a reaction from the readers
I totally get where you're coming from though, I've had "weak" characters I've defended on this website too lolol but I only butt in to rebuttal this time cause I saw you mention how I said Dorothy was a maid and still stood up (and look at where that got HER, elodie wouldn't have ended up whipped)
Omg a character who’s supposed to be coward is… a coward?! Brother in Christ we’re just getting her perspective and people were already hating on her before we got this much information. Like damn, calm down it’s chapter 51. She can’t already be a character we love instantly, there’s something called a “character development”. The whole point is that she’s easily exploited, everyone knows that and she knows it. The more I’m thinking about it, she really never cause any harm, she just exists and so happens to look like Ophelia. Like hello?! We forgetting the bigger picture? For chapter 51, someone said “Dorthory stood up and she’s just a maid.” Good point, but ever thought that Elodie doesn’t know who Ophelia and Amelia personally? She is told mostly “this and that” some bad some good. No shit Dorthory stood up, she grew up with them both, she knows the truth, while Elodie is kept in the dark, we are told by her she wants to know who Amelia is but keeps getting rejected. Like I’m hating on those ladies and that brown hair mom cause dfuq you mean hate on Amelia for being the only friend of Ophelia. Anyways a little annoying that people were kinda shitting on a character for basically being a victim kinda crazy if you ask me “she deserves to die”….right… last time I check she didn’t ask to look like Ophelia.
